Chris Sims' review of a minor Pat Mills comic sent me scurrying, nay even hurrying, to eBay.

Picard management tip: Used sparingly, some light swearing can help emphasize your damn point. I use this with the children, generally while lowering my voice.

Dame Judi Dench does sweary embroidery - "She makes these like needlework embroideries on set in the tedium of filming", says MacFadyen, "but they are all: 'You Are a Cunt'."

Internet service providers step up efforts to block child abuse images - Internet service providers have signed up to a fundamental change in their approach, which will involve working more closely with the police to seek out and block images of child abuse, the culture secretary, Maria Miller, has said. Really? Other than giving more (but in the grand scheme a relatively small amount of) money to CEOP, the report is rather free of details as to precisely how they'll do that. There certainly isn't any straightforward technical solution that will accurately identify child pornography. We can't accurately filter websites based on the text. Identifying the content of images is significantly more difficult, and trying to algorithmically identify pornographic images involving children would involve people spending a lot of time looking at actual pictures of pornographic images involving children. Which is ethically rather difficult, even if it wasn't already illegal. I'm not suggesting there isn't a problem here, but Maria Miller and David Cameron wagging their fingers at the ISPs and saying "you must do something" is feeble tokenism.

Xcom: Enemy Unknown iOS app is priced at premium. Well done them.
