How to Paint (Awesome) Big Dinosaurs In (Awesome) Shop Windows - a pictorial guide. Handy.

Department of Miscellaneous Weapons Development. I sincerely hope the modern day Ministry of Defence still has such spendidly named departments, but I suspect it's much more directly and lethal. We'll never see another Great Panjandrum.

You wouldn't have thought archery and tennis were natural bedfellows. Well, I wouldn't, but I'm wrong because the oldest tennis club in the world is known as The Archery. They once dabbled in croquet, which was allowed after the shooting at the Meeting, but at no other times on the actual archery ground. Safety first.

Mills Zombifies History with "Defoe: The Damned". Really interesting interview - would that more people gave thoughtful answers rather than just puffing their latest thing. Pat Mills is, of course, a giant of British comics, but towards the end of the 1990s after a long and glittering career he seemed to be going off the boil a bit and perhaps sliding into retirement. He rebooted himself around the turn of the millenium (which seems somehow appropriate) and has been writing up a storm ever since. Defoe, his Enlightment Zombie Fighter thriller, is a favourite of mine and I'm excited there's a new series.

Doctor Who: Fifty Stories For Fifty Years: 1990 : Alan Moore has been a shadowy figure in the background for much of the last decade of our story, since he wrote backups for Doctor Who Magazine. While he wrote only a handful of stories for the comic, his stories introduced many ideas, from a Time War to Rassilon and Omega having collaborated, that we'll see slowly entering into the series over the next decade or two.

HS2 will whisk me to London in 45 minutes. In fifteen years time. Maybe. The Japanese have are already belting around the place at 200mph and are gearing up for 300mph+ right now.
