Saturday 01 June 2013 The Forest Road Reader, No 62

Email from my Mum. In full, it reads Saw grey whales. sea otter (gorgeous) sea lions, seals - missed out on the humpbacks and orcas. Have also seen bald eagles (lots) and black bears with cubs, AWESOME! xxx.

Dennis Richie's C compiler. I particularly like the start of this source file even though I have no idea why's there or what it's for.

Tonight's The Bottom Line was about Appreneurs. That's what we call people who write software for phones, apparently. GCC 4.8.1 released, C++11 feature complete, with Clang 3.3 to follow soon.

Is Chocolatey the apt-get Windows users have been waiting for? I don't know, but this write up makes it sounds like it's worth a pretty serious look.

My friend Allan Kelly thinks it might be his mission to make Goodhart's Law better known. Note that's his mission, not his target.

The Adventure Game. Still marvellous.
